Spanish Pueblos in California

Personal Observations

I've lived most of my life in one of the pueblos.
I visited a few original buildings in San Jose.

History

When Spain began settlement of California, there were three organizations in their plan, the missions, the presidios, and the pueblos. Three pueblos were established, one became San Jose, one became Los Angeles, and a third is now part of modern day Santa Cruz.
